2018 EMBOR REALTOR DUES FAQ

ONLY APPLICABLE FOR CURRENT EMBOR  REALTOR  MEMBERS RENEWING THEIR MEMBERSHIP IN 2018

1. When are the 2018 EMBOR dues to be paid? Monday, January 16, 2018.

 

2. How much are the 2018 EMBOR REALTOR Dues? $353 are the yearly dues, there is an optional $25 RPAC & $25 Scholarship Contribution on every invoice making the total $403.

 

3. When will I receive my invoice? Every active member on October 1st was emailed an invoice to the email address EMBOR has on file.

4. How can I pay my 2018 EMBOR Dues? You have 4 options to pay your 2018 EMBOR Dues.

(YOU DO NOT LOG INTO THE EMBOR WEBSITE TO PAY DUES)

              1. THERE ARE NO MORE PAYMENT PLAN OPTIONS AVAILABLR FOR 2018 DUES.

            2. Call the office with any Credit or Debit card 770.787.3763 (An additional $10 processing  fee for the use of more than 1 card)

            3. Mail a check, money order or cashier’s check to P O Box 1143 Covington, GA 30015 (must be post marked by January 16th)

            4. Pay online through the NAR website at this link  (You will be redirected to the NAR website, if you have never registered before       you must register before paying your dues, YOUR EMBOR USERNAME AND PASSWORD WILL NOT WORK ON THIS WEBSITE)       Click here to pay dues online       (Please call NAR with any questions regarding log in 1.800.874.6500)

         

5. I am paying my dues through the Payment Plan, why did I receive an invoice? (This is only available for renewing members)The invoices are generated automatically; for your records. Once you have made the final payment you will receive a "paid in full" invoice via email.

 

6. I am paying my dues through the Payment Plan, when will my payments be processed? If you are making 4 payments the schedule is as follows: September 29th, October 31st, November 30th 2017 & January 12th 2018. If you are making 3 payments the schedule is as follows: October 31st, November 30th 2017 & January 12, 2018. The dates provided above are the days your check will be deposited or your credit/debit card processed.

 

7. How much are the late fees if I do not pay my dues by January 16, 2018? Late fees are as follow:

                                                             January 17th-January 31st$50.00

                                                             February 1st- February 28th $100.00

                                                            March 1st you will be made inactive, a $150 reinstatement fee and full payment of dues in the amount of $353 will be charged and "active status" regained.

8. I am paying online; I do not want to pay the RPAC & Scholarship Contributions. How do I remove them from my invoice? On the left hand side of the invoice beside each contribution there is a pay now or pay later, check the pay later box (you will not be invoiced later for these fees), at the bottom right of the page there is an apply changes, click on apply changes . The fees should change to $353.00, unless you are paying after the January 16th due date.

 

9. Who do I make my check payable to? EMBOR or East Metro Board of REALTORS

DUES Disclaimer: NOT DEDUCTIBLE FOR INCOME TAX

2018 GAR & NAR DUES BILLING/ESTIMATED LOBBYING EXPENSE DEDUCTION ALLOWANCE:

The portion of dues paid that is spent to lobby the State and Federal governments is not deductible for income tax purposes and the IRS requires that all dues statements disclose this information.

GAR has estimated that $10.14 (10.34%) is the nondeductible portion of 2018 GAR dues.

 NAR  dues at $120 per member,  computes 43 percent or $52 to be nondeductible for the member's income tax purposes due to NAR lobbying efforts.   Please note that the entire $35 Public Awareness Campaign special assessment qualifies as fully deductible.

  

RPAC Disclaimer

Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. 70% of each contribution is used by your state PAC to support state and local political candidates. Until your state PAC reaches its RPAC goal 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a; after the state PAC reaches its RPAC goal it may elect to retain your entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates.

 

2017 GAR & NAR Tax Deductible 

    • GAR has estimated that $13.82 (14.10%) is the nondeductible portion of 2017 GAR dues. The disclosure must include the words “

    • For 2017, with dues at $120 per member, NAR computes 42 percent or $50 to be nondeductible for the member's income tax purposes due to NAR lobbying efforts. Please note that the entire $35 Public Awareness Campaign special assessment qualifies as fully deductible.
