About 42% of female real estate professionals and 18% of male agents say they have felt unsafe in the course of their real estate job, according to an online survey of real estate professionals.

Among the top safety concerns of real estate professionals are viewing vacant properties, hosting open houses, and showing foreclosed homes, according to the survey.

Instructor:Captain Ken Malcom

With more than a 20-year veteran of police work and the founder of Personal Security Consultants. He graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Clayton Regional Police Academy. Ken was awarded the 2003 National D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year. He teaches safety and drug prevention courses statewide including continuing education and convention courses for GAR. He was selected as the 2006 and 2007 Instructor of the Year by the GAR Partners in Education program. Ken also serves as a guest instructor for the National Real Estate Conventions for Better Homes and Gardens.

This class covers the advertising rules of the GREC 520-1-.09; everything agents need to consider before spending advertising dollars and what brokers need to know when supervising advertising. Agents and brokers will learn what the rumors are and what the rules are in advertising, from business cards to social medial, in accordance with the GREC.

Instructor: SHARON D. MILLER Sharon D. Miller is from Gainesville, Florida (Home of the Gators) and she’s a graduate of St. Leo University. She has been a REALTOR® since 1998. Sharon was a full-time soldier in the US Army retiring as an E-7 Sergeant First Class, where she was a logistician/supply SGT while on active duty. Sharon was past Chairman of Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity Committee, By Laws, Rules and Regulations Committee, Education Committee, Global Alliance, C/E Training, and the Savannah Board of REALTORS® Institute. Sharon was also the 2009 President of the Savannah Multi-List Corporation. Sharon is currently an agent with ERA Southeast Coastal Real Estate. Sharon instructs a Pre-License Course, Brokers Pre-License, 25-hour Post-License and Continuing Education courses. Sharon received the “Rising Star” Award from the Georgia Real Estate Educators Association in 2007. She is a continuing member of the Distinguished Sales Society and has two children. In addition, Sharon’s designations and certifications include ABR, RLI, and At Home with Diversity. Sharon wants you to be educated in your business because no real estate commission is worth losing your license or going to jail for.

Identify key aspirational concepts in the Preamble to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Code of Ethics.
- Describe “general business” ethics and compare and contrast them with the REALTORS®’ Code of Ethics.
- Describe concepts established in Articles 1, 2, 12, and 17 and possible violations of them.
- Describe the professional standards process for enforcing the Code of Ethics, including the duty to arbitrate.
- Identify critical elements of due process as they relate to Code enforcement.
- Identify factors considered by hearing panels in procuring cause disputes.

Cynthia is a personable business professional, as well as, diplomatic and tactful in connecting with people. She is flexible, versatile, poised, competent, and also able to maintain a sense of humor under pressure. Cynthia maintains a high energy level and is a self-motivated individual with the ability to organize and see finished products in their incubation stage. She has a varied and long background in education which crosses multiple platforms. In the classroom her presentation and delivery skills are quite engaging and involved. Her real estate career began in 1982 and has included being an agent and currently the broker of ALERT Properties. Cynthia is involved in the real estate industry in several aspects. She serves on her local real estate board, East Metro Board of Realtors and she is serves with the Georgia Association of Realtors (GAR).

  • > When registering for an EMBOR CE Class, the member will be asked to enter their credit/debit card information. At that time, a $10 fee will be charged to the card.
  • > Once the member attends the CE Class the credit/debit card used at the time of registration will be credited $10.
  • > If the member does not cancel the reservation 48 hours prior to the scheduled date and time of the CE Class. NO REFUND OR CREDIT will be issued.
  • > EMBOR will use the PayPal system to process registration fees.(Note: You do not need a PayPal account to process the payment)
